Entry-level AUTOMATION (Robotic Painting) ENGINEER - Automotive

Our client- a GLOBAL LEADER in automotive injection molding and bodycolor painting- is expanding their pool of painting expertise at their state-of-the-art paint facility located near Toledo, Ohio.
This "TOP 10" Tier One organization has an immediate need for a highly motivated, bright technology grad to learn the fundamentals of highly automated robotic paint applications. An interest in applied robotics, an excellent work ethic, and a relevant BS in electrical engineering or industrial technology will get you an interview. Must be able to work 2nd shift (3PM until midnight).

Candidates must be PC literate and generally familiar with industrial shop controls.

CHIEF ENGINEER

We have an immediate opening for a Chief Engineer. This position will be located at our Houston, TX offices. The chief engineer’s responsibilities will be split between management and engineering duties. Supported by the North American headquarters in Pittsburgh, the chief engineer and his engineering team must produce technical proposals, design the hardware and software and support field operations for the offshore and oil and gas markets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· As a manager the chief engineer will be required to carry out the following functions:
· Recruit and develop engineers to design electrical propulsion and distribution hardware and automation systems for offshore vessels and medium voltage drive equipment for the oil and gas industry.

o Manage a small team of engineers including allocating work assignments, managing personnel development and training, and maintaining the departments budget including capital expenditure, expenses, and work force utilization.
o Develop and approving technical risk analysis for prospective projects
o Review all engineering solutions if they constitute a new designs.
o Act as point of contact for technical matters between the head office and his/her team.
o Develop the engineering teams capabilities in order to support the business.

* In his/her technical capacity the chief engineer is expected to have good process knowledge either within the offshore market and/or the oil and gas market and carry out some or all of the following functions:
o Review customers requirements and propose detailed technical solutions with sales department to produce technical proposals.
o Act as a project engineer and provide technical interface with customers at all stages of a project to ensure power and control equipment is clearly defined, designed and commissioned to the customers requirements.
o Write detailed technical specification for bought in equipment. Scope of this work depends on candidates technical expertise but could include power equipment such as transformers, motors, MCCs, or automation equipment such as PCs, network equipment and standard software packages.
o Carryout detailed design work in one or more of the following technical fields: power electronics, power systems and/or automation systems as part of the project team.
o Provide support to project managers.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

· Minimum of a BS in Electrical Engineering, or related field.

· Minimum of ten (10) years of direct experience with power systems and/or drive systems and/or automation systems

· Strong project engineering or engineering management skills including the ability to lead a small team of engineers, formulate and monitor project schedules and manage work breakdown structures.

· Experience within the oil & gas or marine industries.

· Ability to learn and follow defined departmental policies, procedures and practices.

· Must be able to make decisions with regards to completion of tasks and job methods and follow through with results of outcome.

· Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

· Must be able to independently arrange and organize work efforts on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, meet tight deadlines and multi-task on a consistent basis.
